पृष्ठीय रीढ़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 10 - 11; पृष्ठीय सौफट रेज़ (सम्पूर्ण) : 16 - 18; गुदा कांटा: 3; ऐनल सौफट रेज़: 8. Readily identified by the blue and yellow coloration (Ref. 48635).

Occurs in large groups on outer reef slopes (Ref. 9710). Schooling species along upper parts of drop-offs and in outer reef lagoons. Feeds at various depths to near surface in pursuit of zooplankton (Ref. 48635).
