Occurs in littoral zones where the substrate is hard, most known specimens from exposed sandy beaches (Ref. 4983). The stomachs which were examined contained soft parts of gastropods, insects ( chironomid and ephemerid larvae), bottom detritus (sand grains and plant tissue), and unidentifiable sludge (Ref. 558).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01514 (0.00700 - 0.03275), b=2.97 (2.80 - 3.14), in cm Total Length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisk nivå (Ref. 69278):  2.9   ±0.39 se; based on food items.
Resiliens (Ref. 120179):  Hög, lägsta populationsfördubblingstid mindre än 15 månader (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
