Comments |
Type locality of Kanekonia leichhardti, Queensland, Gulf of Carpentaria. Specimens were collected by a benthic dredge from gritty sandy bottom. It appears to be rare and may be endemic to the Gulf of Carpentaria since no further specimens were collected from wide-ranging surveys conducted on the north-west shelf of Western Australia and coastal and inter-reef soft bottom habitats from Torres Strait south throughout the entire length of the Great Barrier Reef (Ref. 95039). |
