Occurs in the Mekong basin. Found in declining numbers below the Khone Falls to the Tonle Sap River and the Great Lake (Ref. 37772). Juveniles caught in the dai fishery of the Tonlé Sap are utilized for prahoc. Adults are sold fresh (Ref. 12693). Known from Stung Chinit and Kaskos (Ref. 36654). Also Ref. 33813, 43281
