Definition of Term

k-selection
(English) A life history strategy characterised by slow development, low mortality, late maturity and reproduction, repeated spawnings but sometimes at intervals of several years, large body size and long life span. An adaptation to a relatively constant environment. (See also: mortality, maturity, spawning)
