basicity
(English) Degree of being a base, i.e., a solution with a pH well above 7; turns litmus blue; reacts with an acid to form a salt; has a bitter taste. (See also: acidity, pH, buffer)
basicité
(French) Caractère basique d'une substance soluble. Les bases fortes ont un pH supérieur à 12. Change la couleur du papier tournesol en bleu ; réagit avec un acide pour former un sel ; a un goût amer. (See also: acidity, pH, buffer)
