Comments: | Introduction of Chinese silver carp (Hypothalmichthys molitrix) caused significant changes in diversifying number of cultured fish as well as fish community structure in Vietnam. Being a phytoplankton feeder, fast growing, highly fecund species and with easy response to induced breeding, after introduction, Chinese silver carp has rapidly become an important cultured fish species in Vietnam sharing about 30% total fresh water fish production from aquaculture at present.
