Diagnosis

Distinguished from all other species of Kryptopterus by the following unique combination of characters: body with pale brown coloration with scattered black spots on flanks; head width 11.4-12.0% SL; body depth at anus 22.3-24.3% SL; eye diameter 20.3-25.3% HL; maxillary barbels extending to anal origin; anal fin with 49-53 rays; and gill rakers 16-17 (Ref. 52489).
