Diagnosis |
Description: snout pointed; head profile steep to slightly concave; adult males often develop a small nuchal hump; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 52307). Coloration: body rosy to red with a brownish underlayer, dominant individuals bright red; caudal spot always visible in juveniles, but tends to disappear in adults; centrally located lateral spot well-developed, rounded and often surrounded by a thin, lightly colored zone; rarely some dark vertical bars appear, reaching from dorsum to near mid-body (Ref. 52307). |
