Diagnosis

Terminal phase body color: body is pinkish red, abdomen silvery; lower two-thirds of dorsal fin pale gray-violet. With five to six predorsal scales; two cheek scale rows behind eye; three below eye. No scaly sheath at bases of dorsal and anal fins. Scales large.
