Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12 - 16; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 16 - 19; Vertebrae: 55 - 57. Jaw extends to posterior margin of the eye; eye is small; head displays a dorsal bulbous swelling behind eye, particularly in large individuals; caudal peduncle elongated. Principal caudal fin rays 11-13. Caudal fin rounded (Ref. 43717).
