Marine; brackish; demersal; depth range 1 - 100 m (Ref. 95541). Subtropical; 41°N - 30°N, 8°E - 35°E
Mediterranean Sea: Tunisia to Egypt, Suez Canal, southern extremity of the Adriatic Sea. Recorded from Lake Quarum in Egypt. Often confused with the sympatric Solea vulgaris Quensel 1806, a junior synonym of Solea solea (Linnaeus, 1758).
