Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Paracanthocobitis phuketensis can be diagnosed from all its congeners by combination of the following characters: lateral line incomplete, ending near dorsal-fin insertion; dorsal fin with 9½-10½ branched rays; usually absence of axillary pelvic lobe, occasionally rudimentary; series of black blotches, sometimes overlain with faint dusky stripe along side of body not obscuring lateral blotches, ending near caudal fin; circular black spot on upper margin of caudal-fin base; black pigment not extending from black blotches along side of body onto base of pectoral fin; absence of marmorated pattern anterior to dorsal-fin origin; dorsal saddles longer than interspaces, frequently connecting to lateral blotches; upper caudal fin with 7-8 branched rays (Ref. 117351).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5005   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00724 (0.00347 - 0.01512), b=3.01 (2.83 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.9   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
