Little is known of this species. Generally found in the lower reaches of rivers, it is sympatric with other members of the genus like Hemigrammus rodwayi (Ref. 12225). Often found in calm waters and swampy areas (Ref. 27188). Maximum length reported to reach 4 cm SL (Ref. 12225).
