Africa: upper Zambezi River headwater zone; may be related to species of the tropical subgenus Clypeobarbus (Ref. 7248). Also reported from the Lulua (Kasai drainage, middle Congo River basin) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 114247) and the Okavango in Angola (Ref. 120641).
