Body thin and elongated; mouth terminal, with conspicuously protrusible jaws; teeth set in bands; two well separated dorsal fins, the first located head of the origin of the anal fin; pectoral fins located high on the body; lateral line lacking; back olive green; flanks and belly silvery, with a narrow, median, silvery, lateral stripe (Ref. 55763).
