Has 11-14 branched dorsal-fin rays; a black spot at top of gill opening; midlateral stripe on caudal peduncle (Ref. 12693).
Found in upland areas with fast flowing waters (Ref. 56749). Probably migrates into seasonally flooded forests. Feeds on periphyton, phytoplankton and algae (Ref. 12693).
