পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ) : 10 - 12; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ) : 22 - 24; পায়ূ কাঁটা : 3; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 21 - 23; কশেরুকা : 34 - 38. Brown with darker brown vertical bands (Ref. 4412).

Epipelagic or mesopelagic in oceanic temperate waters. Rarely seen (Ref. 6891). Juveniles swim among tentacles of jellies (Ref. 48637).
