Etymology: Astronesthes: Greek, astra = ray + Greek, esthes, -es = suit, something used to wrap (Ref. 45335); tatyanae: Named for Tatyana Borisovna Agafonova.
Eponymy: Tatyana Borisovna Agafonova works at the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), Moscow. She collected the holotype of this species during the 1989 cruise of the Fishery Research Vessel ‘Vozrozhdenie’. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
