Issue
This species is placed in the genus Rhamdia in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Mar. 2011: Ref. 86697) following Burgess (1989: Ref. 6868). Treated incertae sedis in Heptapteridae by Bockmann & Guazzelli (2003: Ref. 36914) and Ferraris 2007 (Ref. 58032). Silfvergrip 1996 (Ref. 50029) placed this in Nannorhamdia, that would make it an Imparfinis, based on examination of the types.
