Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Vertebrae: 37 - 38. Distinguished from congeners in having a maxilla with a relatively slender anterior process and a posterior portion transversely compressed; a maxilla which lacks a distinct flexion in the region where it extends past the posterior limit of the premaxilla; a primordial ligament that is relatively flat transversely and attaches to the posteromedial process of the ascending process of the maxilla; the mesopterygoid and metapterygoid overlapping along their area of contact; a quadrate without a variably developed vertical ridge or process extending dorsally from the main body of the quadrate in, and posterior to, the region where the posterodorsal process of the quadrate contacts the anteroventral process of metapterygoid; and presence of the temporal foramen. Differs further in having two rows of teeth on the premaxilla, with two conical teeth in the outer row (Ref. 52412).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00851 (0.00408 - 0.01776), b=3.02 (2.85 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  2.6   ±0.1 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
