Etymology: Neogastromyzon: Greek, neos = new + Greek, gaster = stomach + Greek, myzo = to suckle (Ref. 45335); kottelati: Named for Maurice Kottelat, for his extensive contributions to the freshwater ichthyology in Southeast Asia, Asia and Europe.
