Short description
Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics
Vertebrae: 168 - 177. This species is distinguished by the following characters: pale coloration, light grayishn brown dorsally and lighter ventrally; head with pigmentation under skin and covered by semi-transparent
unpigmented skin; gill opening moderately reduced, separated from pectoral-fin base by a distance less than diameter of gill opening; total vertebrae 168-177 (Ref. 129617).
Specimens collected by bottom trawl together with many demersal fishes, which may indicate that this species lives near the bottom. Enlarged sensory pores and the soft body may suggest that this species lives associated with the bottom but is more or less pelagic (Ref. 129617).
