Western Atlantic: off New Jersey and Florida to the northern Gulf of Mexico and Brazil (Ref. 7251). Uncommon in the Antilles (Ref. 51183). Conspecificity of the Atlantic and Pacific populations needs confirmation (Ref. 27313).
