Africa: widespread in the Congo River basin, from the (marine) lower Congo (Ref. 1878, 42510) up to Lake Upemba (Ref. 2970), in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of Congo and Central African Republic. Absent from the Luapula-Moero and southern Kasaï (Ref. 2970). Reports from the Chiloango basin (Ref. 1878, 4913) unconfirmed.
