Adults usually occur in caves or among rocks at depths from 6.1 to 48.8 m (Ref. 205). Observed cleaning a cardinal fish (Apogon evermanni) and a moray eel (Gymnothorax sp.). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Solitary and secretive (Ref 90102).
