Diagnosis: pharyngeal bone normal (Ref. 54524). Some pharyngeal teeth enlarged (Ref. 54524, 55954). Anal fin base 22.9 (22.0-24.3)% SL (Ref. 54524).

Deep-water species (Ref. 5595, 55954). Inhabits sandy shores; feeds mainly on invertebrates but also takes diatoms (Ref. 5595).
