Inhabits coastal waters, estuaries and river mouths (Ref. 9118). Introduced into the Salton Sea, a warm, relatively shallow, and highly saline lake (Ref. 5723). Feeds on fishes, small shrimps and other crustaceans (Ref. 9118).
