Etymology: Lebetus: Greek, lebes, -etos = small boiler (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Pierre Guillet (1866–1918) was an artist known for his delicate pastel seascapes. The etymology says: “…This goby’s colour invites us to dedicate it to our friend, the excellent artist P. Guillet” (translation). (Ref. 128868), visit book page.

Eastern Atlantic: Kattegat and Belt seas to Portugal; also from Banyuls, western Mediterranean, and Canary Islands (Ref. 5299). Range extended to Shetland Islands, Scotland (Ref. 86347).

Found inshore on coarse ground, including coralline deposits (Ref. 4696).
