背的軟條 (總數) : 13 - 14; 臀鰭軟條: 9; 脊椎骨: 30 - 31. Distinguishable from all other species in the modesta-group by the combination of the following characters: 9-10 branched dorsal fin rays, 13-18 narrow, brownish, irregular, bars on sides, a broad bar on caudal peduncle and numerous small brownish spots on caudal fin lobes (Ref. 13469); and narrow pale bar in front and behind black bar on caudal peduncle (Ref. 43281).
在 modesta 中可與所有的其他種區別-群藉由下列特徵的組合: 9-10個分枝的背鰭鰭條,13-18 狹窄的﹐褐色的﹐和不規則的, 在側邊上的橫帶, 寬的橫帶在尾鰭葉上的在尾梗上而很多的小褐色的斑點;(參考文獻 13469) 而且在在前面與後面黑色的橫帶狹窄的灰白橫帶在尾梗上.(參考文獻 43281)
