Etymology: Hemigrammus: Greek, hemi = half + Greek, gramma = letter, signal (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Philip Newbold was a friend of the author. He died while working on experiments on Lake Maracaibo. We have been unable to find anything more about him, or the nature of his experiments. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
