Eel-like, shallow body depth; 1 to several symphyseal fangs on dentary and premaxilla; lacking cardiform teeth, pelvic fins, and swim bladder rocker bone; a patch of ridges posteriorly on the ventral surface of the swim bladder (Ref. 34024). Anal fin rays 52-54 in front of vertical through back of 30th vertebrae; precaudal vertebrae 18-19 (Ref. 34024). Pectoral fin rays 18; total nasal lamellae 24 (Ref. 10698).
