Etymology: Congiopodus: Latin, conger = conger + Greek, pous = feet (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Louis Charles Kiener (1799–1881) was a French conchologist and zoologist. He was curator of the private collection of the Duke of Rivoli (1834). Four birds are named after him. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
