Etymology: Garra: Name based on a vernacular Indian name (Hamilton, 1822:343, Ref. 1813); a fish living in mud (Ref. 128817).
Eponymy: Shri. Punnavilakathu Kochukrishnan Surendranathan Asari was, until retirement (2004), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Kerala Forest Department. He is now (2005–2015) Managing Director of a garden resort. In honouring him the etymology says [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
