Remarks: caudal fin rounded.
Found stuck to rocks or hiding between stones in creeks and rivers. Usually in rapids and riffles of high current velocity, up to an elevation of 1, 180 m. Ingests mud, diatoms and filamentous algae scraped from the substratum. Gravid females at 7 cm SL have been observed.
