Espinas dorsales (total) : 0; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 13 - 17; Espinas anales: 0; Radios blandos anales: 15 - 16. Males with dark red spots on lower part of head and throat; dorsal and anal fins with wide white-blue to light blue margins; caudal fin plain red; females with spots on head, body and unpaired fins (Ref. 42930).
Inhabits water levels close to the substrate of pools. These pools are ephemeral and usually dry up seasonally. Collected from areas of pools with the highest grass density (Ref. 42930).
