背棘 (總數) : 5; 背的軟條 (總數) : 26 - 29; 臀棘: 2; 臀鰭軟條: 26 - 28. Small blackish spots usually present, at least dorsoanteriorly on body. Adults with a large bulbous protuberance at front of snout (Ref 9808).
