Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Etymology: Robaloscion: The new genus name Robaloscion is derived from the local Peruvian name "robalo" in use for fishes of the species Sciaena wieneri, and "scion", a root commonly used since Gill (1861) in sciaenid generic names for its resemblance to Sciaena (drum).
Eponymy: Dr Charles Wiener (1851–1913) was an Austrian-French explorer and linguist who travelled widely in Peru and came close to re-discovering Machu Picchu (1875). [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
