Short description Chiavi di identificazione | Morfologia | Morfometria

Spine dorsali (totale) : 12; Raggi dorsali molli (totale) : 9; Spine anali: 2; Raggi anali molli: 6. This species is distinguished by the following characters: A II,6; dorsal-fin spines are rigid; relatively short snout, its length 12.3-17.2% (mean 15.1%) of SL, and is shorter than postorbital length; posterior margin of the maxilla reaching beyond vertical through middle of pupil; the distance between tips of lateral lacrimal and first suborbital spines is shorter than between tips of first and second suborbital spines; no supplemental preopercular spine; tentacles on supraocular and posterior lacrimal spines are well developed, their lengths greater than orbit diameter; trunk and fins with numerous tentacles; lateral lacrimal and suborbital spines poorly are developed, indistinct, usually tiny spines and often bony protuberances without pointed tips; without the distinct black blotch on soft-rayed portion of dorsal fin (Ref. 106976).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5625   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01288 (0.00620 - 0.02676), b=3.03 (2.86 - 3.20), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.3   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
