Etymology: Leptoderma: Greek, leptos = thin + Greek, derma = skin (Ref. 45335); ospesca: Named for OSPESCA (Organización del Sector Pesquero y Acúicola de Centroamerica) for sponsoring research cruises of the Spanish research vessel B/O Miguel Oliver on both the Pacific (2010) and Atlantic (2011) coasts of Central America.
