Short description Identification keys | Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 6. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: pored lateral line scale rows 42; (dorsal-most scale full-sized) scale rows between lateral line and middle of spinous dorsal fin base 3; absence of scale rows on ventral side of dentary; interorbital scales are mostly cycloid, beyond the level of anterior pupil rim, but not reaching the anterior orbit rim; the 5 rectangular dark blotches at or slightly above the lateral line are usually retained; 2 dark blotches on tip of lower jaw (Ref, 123218).p Along the COI gene, the following apomorphic sites have unique nucleotides shared by the two specimens of C. microdon examined so and these nucleotide sites so far can be used for the diagnosis of the species to other congeners (Ref. 123218).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = No PD50 data   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01072 (0.00509 - 0.02256), b=3.06 (2.88 - 3.24), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.5   ±0.5 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
