Etymology: Cynoglossus: Greek, kyon = dog + Greek, odous = teeth + Greek, glossa = tongue (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Lin Su-Yen was head of the Fisheries Experiment Station, Canton. He was the author of: Carps and Carp-like Fishes of Kwangtung and Adjacent Islands (1931). His name is also given as Lin Shu-Yen. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
