Africa: present in the Ntem and associated drainages as well as the Ivindo and its tributaries, in Cameroon, Gabon (Ref. 81651) and Equatorial Guinea (Ref. 5673). Report from the Dja in Cameroon (Ref. 51193) is not confirmed in Ref. 81260 which considers this species as a Lower Guinea endemic.

خارهاي باله پشتي (کل) : 14 - 16; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 9 - 11; خارهاي باله مخرجي: 3; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 6 - 8. Diagnosis: lachrymal plus four tubular infraorbitals, no gap between third and fourth tubular infraorbital (Ref. 81260).

Monogamous, biparental, substrate spawners displaying some degree of sexual dichromatism (Ref. 81260). Pair-bonding cave spawner (Ref. 52307).
