Africa: middle and upper Congo River basin including Pool Malebo (= Stanley Pool), and Kasai and Ubangi drainages, but not in the Luapula system (Ref. 78218, 82238) and Zambian Congo (Ref. 78218). Absent from the lower Congo according to Ref. 82238, but species reported from several localities in Ref. 42510.
