Etymology: Aphyosemion: Greek, aphye, -es, sardine, anchovy + Greek, semeion = mark, signal (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Wolfgang Herzog is a German aquarist, and another intrepid member of the DKG (Deutsche Killifisch Gemeinschaft) who makes expeditions to remote areas in search of killifish. He “kindly provided the results of his successful fish collections in Gabon”. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
