Dorsal fin rays 17-18; anal fin rays 17-18; body depth 30.4% in SL; caudal fin with a banded pattern; males lack the distinct black spots that are present on the lower frontal part of the dorsal fin (Ref. 53985).
Occurs in temporary pools, swamps and ditches (Ref. 59344). Bottom spawner, 4 months incubation (Ref. 27139).
