Western Central Pacific: known only from Misool and Bantana Islands north west of Irian Jaya, Indonesia.

Duri punggung (Keseluruhan (total)) : 3 - 5; duri punggung lunak (Keseluruhan (total)) : 6 - 9; Duri dubur: 1; Sirip dubur lunak: 11 - 14. Second dorsal fin lacking spine.
Inhabit mangrove swamps close inshore. Nothing is known of its biology. This species is too small to be of any commercial value but may be taken as food by young of commercial fish species (Ref. 9836).
