Etymology: Rhamphichthys: Greek, rhamphos = bill, peak + Greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Carlos Hahn was an Argentine aquarist who collected specimens in the Corrientes area, where he lived. He and the author had a long-standing relationship and correspondence. The holotype of the catfish species came from Hahn’s collection. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
