Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt) : 86; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 66. M. rosenblatti differs from all other species of the genus by the following combination of characters: head long with elongate, pointed snout, skull length 5.3-7.9% TL, rostral fang strongly hooked with distal part in a nearly right angle to dorsal profile of skull, (5)-6-(7) teeth in each jaw, dorsal fin origin above myomeres nos. 9-12, and 4-(5) lateral, subdermal spots of pigmentation.
