Espinas dorsales (total) : 11; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 26 - 31; Espinas anales: 2; Radios blandos anales: 7; Vértebra: 23. Body whitish when fresh. Oblique rows of dark dots above lateral line. Length of longest gill raker usually 12 or less (mostly 10) in HL (Ref. 41299).
Commercially cultured in Japan. Widespread in sandy and muddy places (Ref. 9137).
